Ancestral Space

Ancestral Space - Translated Identities is the second installment of As It Is! Contemporary Art From Africa and The Diaspora, and looks at artists who bridge traditional and the modern arts. Their wisdom is respected and revered. Through their work they illustrate the importance of past histories and its relevance to a future modern Africa. They recognise and walk in their ancestral space -this exhibition explores these links on a various levels, as well as celebrates the work of a selection of 'Elders of African art'
